Observation details
Photos might disturb. Injured bird at north end of lake, in area of the bench with view of the lake. When I first startled it on the ground and then photographed it on a low perch, I couldn't tell anything was wrong. When it flew again and dropped out of sight, something obviously was amiss. I then found it in shallow water near the bank. It flopped around a bit and moved into shallower water closer to bank; twisting its head around and looking up. That is where I left it. Phone message has been left with local wildlife rescue. Ongoing situation. // 12:00pm. When I returned to the spot to check on the bird, it had moved up onto the bank, but I startled it. It dropped back into the water then fluttered onto the bank again. Left it alone. It is twisting its head around awkwardly.
