Observation details

The head was gray, and the bird had a bold white eyering and a white lore. The reddish horizontal stripes on the underside extended from the throat to the tail. The tail was dark with three narrower white stripes plus a slim white terminal band. The wing projection didn't quite extend to the tip of the tail. The back was dark with large splotches of white. The bird has a broken mandible. I have more pictures if anyone wants more views or higher resolution. We watched the bird preen for 25 minutes.
