NOTES: LNS notes: Recordist changes the gain about 38 minutes into the reel. 01Mar 2004 JML. Reel box notes: "Rain squals [sic], rewound. Sta. #3 cont. Hi J.H., close chorusing. 15 Oct 1968. Rain squalls, 1-3-4 croakers showing comes in 1st 1 inch of reel. Porpoise squeels in B.G. Porpoise click/pings 1 1/2" from end. (None heard on tape). Check own ship pings on last 1" of tape." Log notes: "On sta. #3 (1755). Commenced to listen and fish. Hear individual H.J. hammers. Heavy rain squalls - fish caught - Sea Robin, Filefish, Puffer, Lizzard [sic] fish, flounder - fishing quit afer dark. Sea state 3 wind 10 NE, water depth 60 feet. Hi jackhammer chorus, then later individual low jack hammer shows, leaves, then nothing but hi jackhammers, - later, a low diesel engine droan, in comes either a low J.H. or a Croaker, - (will see later) close, - good sounds. Secured this station at 2035. Moving to Moorhead city Sea bouy to meet Frank Swartz, 0700 (16 Oct.). SEAOCEAN.
