Observation details
Small empid flycatching mud canopy at edges of willow. Ounce seen very low. Small billed with a small round head that may have showed a rear crown. Appeared to flick tail several times. Bold white eye ring that appeared at times to show a teardrop shape but I'm not sure. Silent. EDIT: reviewing photos: a first fall bird with buffy wing bars, extensive olive across upperparts and head, primary projection projection medium length (?), dusky underparts with perhaps some yellow on belly (?). I can't get a great idea of tertial pattern. I think Hammonds /Dusky seems a good guess. EDIT: Subsequent field views and photos on 10/14 make me believe this is a Hammond's. See 10/14 checklist.
