NOTES: Notes from tape or reel box: "Still at anchor from overnight; south of Silver Bank reef. 8-ball, Kudelski, Uher4400. Generator off. One strong caller with several moderate strength animals in the background. Careful analysis should isolate strong animal. Animal becomes very strong as tape progresses, surface series correlated with sightings of animal within 300 yards of boat - near end of tape the recorder slowed drastically though battery reading was still good. Continued on WS#13. Be careful on taking temporal measurements over the last 1/4 of this tape." [MLNS notes: Includes 440Hz reference tone at beginning. 8 minutes and 31 seconds were removed from the end of the tape, when the speed problems became obvious. 08Jan2004 CB] Notes from beginning of next tape 1-WS-13, MLNS #118143: "Last portion of WS-12 the recorder was slowing down drastically, losing power. I switched over, put the Uher on 110 power by turning the generator on; however I was then getting a lot of feedback because I wasn't grounded. I switched over to the R-130 and the 110, and for some reason I wasn't picking up any signal - very little signal - on the R-130." SEAOCEAN.
