NOTES: Notes from tape box: "0340-0455 Jan30, 1978. Silver Bank - western edge. 8-ball hydrophone; Kudelski modified pre-amp; Uher 4400 Reporter Stereo. 3.75 ips; Break in middle, when connector went bad - lost approx. 10-15 min. Recorder batteries wearing down, check reference tones in last 1/2 of tape. This tape plays too fast, the voice notes are speeded up, apparently the battery run down early in the recording." Continuation of recording of WS#2 [MLNS #118126] Notes from recording log: "Continuance of recording WS#2, nearby animal occasionally distinguishable from confusion chorus. Break in middle of cut when connector went bad, last 10-15 minutes, recorder batteries wearing down last 1/4 of recording. Check several 440 tone references for loss of tape speed (if any)." [MLNS notes: second half of tape not digitized, as the speed problems are quite exaggerated. 440Hz tones were not recorded correctly at the end of the first half, so there's no way to calibrate the recording. 22Dec2003 CB] SEAOCEAN.
