Observation details
Checked how the higher lake levels affected the Reef and found it being used as a nesting site by Common Terns. Conservative count 200. Attached picture at 400mm could only capture a small portion of the flock rising from the reef. Got out of there quickly to minimize impact. Note added in 2018. The water is so high now that the reef is virtually underwater with minimal, if any, nesting activity going on. I thought the area is so sensitive now that I did not go anywhere near the reef.
