Larger than the smaller female Herring Gulls which look like Iceland Gulls with their rounded heads and small bills.
Observation details
Dark black mantled gull @ the same size as the larger male Herring Gulls and with very small to no white apical spots on the folded wing, unlike a dark mantled Greater Black-backed Gull which would show much larger white apicals. Much larger bill than the Lesser Black-backed Gull. Very light pale pinkish-gray legs at a distance. In flight only a very small white spot seen on the P10, with end of the P10 dark. Was not present on arrival. Later went to the beach after the Ring-billeds had returned. But was not there at the end of the observation.
