Observation details

Relatively large sparrow showing bold eye ring, pinkish bill and in flight you could see white on the tail edges. GPS 36.621259, -121.941692. Seen near gate #8 entrance to dirt recreation trail which is south of Pico Ave., and across where the Asilomar dunes are. Bird did fly to dunes across street, but then came back to coastal side. Seen by rec trail and also flew down to rocks by water. Interestingly, the morning was sunny but a low fog moved in over the rocks and then quickly retreated. The VESP, PAWA and YRWA's all seemed to show up after that happened with the fog.
