Observation details
Continuing immature found by Cleary earlier in the day. Found working the mudflat south of Long Point where it actually walked out in front of me within about 30 ft and was quite obliging. Loosely associating with half a dozen Killdeer. A relatively large and chunky Calidrid (approximately the same size as a Killdeer). Overall pale. Gray upperparts with fine black scalloping on the wing coverts. Underparts whitish with blurry gray streaking on the breast and flanks. A tinge of peachy-buff on the belly. Slightly darker crown and auriculars making the white supercilium stand out prominently. Short, thick-based bill straight and tapering somewhat (but fairly stout at the tip). Yellowish legs. Silent.
