NOTES: 47 songs and one long call of BIRD #4 recorded at 7:23:35 [check to see if this could be 7:22:35 instead]; this cut is a continuation of cut #99-131-01, beginning at 7:06:20 am, after previous cut ended at 7:00:14 am; bird sang five times after previous cut ended, and then went quiet; it then gave a long call at 7:04:47 am, and then began singing again (the first song on tape was the birdÕs fourth song after starting up again), with the bird in the same spot where it was at end of the previous cut, 30-35 meters up overhead in a densely vegetated branch of a generally open, huge tree along road); the bird then crossed road to a point almost 30 meters directly overhead; then moved down road to the west, now 30-35 meters away, and 25 meters up, in the third tree used during this cut (on north side of the road); the bird was moving back-and-forth along a U-shaped transect of its favorite trees; it was singing only intermittently for much of this recording; it moved again at 7:14:35 am, crossing the road again to a large tree 35 meters away and up overhead on south side of the road (after which, I missed four songs); after turning the recorder off at 7:22:35 am, I missed a song at 7:23:14 am with recorded back on at7:23:47 am (though the bird apparently did not leave the tree, it seemed to move to the back side, stillabout 35 meters away and 25-30 meters up); recorder said to be turned off at 7:23:35 [more likely 7:24:35] after which I missed one last song at 7:25:14 am; I did not hear any more songs in the next ten minutes; recorded in good, terra firme forest along NW edge of reserve along perimetral road, ca. 300 meters NE of road into the Sooretama Reserve [19¡ 04Õ 22" S, 39¡ 57Õ 06" W]; full, dense overcast; rain through the pre-dawn hours; calm; 77¡ F; (6/3/11/1//24/2 Ð single slash indicates movement, double indicates break in tape). ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
