NOTES: 108 songs and four long calls of BIRD #3 recorded at 6:43:20; I believe I missed eight songs getting onto bird after I changed tape, with this cut beginning at 5:59:55 am with bird in the same spot as at end of previous cut (#99-112-5) in the NW corner of the sustainable forestry plot; the bird was apparently 40 meters away and high up; bird flew at 6:04:59 am; bird then flew to SW end of the block, where now 25-30 meters up as it moved (seen briefly); flew again at 6:10:11 am; bird was in almost constant motion at this point, 25-28 meters from me and now 2/3 of the way down the west side of the plot; then moved to a large tree off the south end of the block, where I again got onto it, now 50-60 meters away; break in tape at 6:13:03 am, with me getting back onto the bird at 6:15:22 am, with the bird now 50 meters away and again high up off the south end of the block; another break at 6:16:43 am, with the tape beginning at 6:18:22 am, with the bird apparently in the same spot; yet another break at 6:22:30 am, with tape beginning again at 6:24:32 am, with bird now 30 meters away; recorder off again briefly at 6:24:52 am, when the bird went off the southern end of the block; recorder off again at 6:25:20 am, after bird moved yet again; on again at 6:25:56 am; after missing four songs, the recorder was back on again at 6:29:33 am; the bird was 50 meters in, high up, and moving around a bit almost due south of the SW corner of the A3 marker at 6:34:36 am; the bird was singing only intermittently at the end, when it was only 35-40 meters from me; recorded at the north end of the sustainable logging plot (Bloco A) located off the west side of Estrada do Gave¿, 2.1 km N of Estrada do Caing¿ [19¡ 04' 32" S, 39¡ 54Õ 17" W]; partly cloudy, calm, 72-73¡ F; this cut contains a good series of Veniliornis (affinis ?) songs near the end; (20/17/5/20//1/45 Ð single slash indicates movement, double indicates break in tape).
