NOTES: Recorded about 50 meters short of marker #20 along forest trail through good, terra firme forest with a moderately open understory; bird was 5-8 meters up and 30 meters away; well seen after approach in response to playback (to which it also seemed to move higher up in trees); I whistled to the bird before recording it, to which it may have given the same song more frequently; it sang less frequently after subsequent playback; clear, calm, 78¡ F. ML: Background subject changed from recordist's original identification of Ramphastos tucanus cuvieri to Ramphastos tucanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
