NOTES: 103 songs and four long calls of bird #1 at dawn, with parts recorded at 5:35:43 and 5:50. First song on tape was the birdÕs third song of the morning, with it beginning with a long-call at 5:19:45 am, and then a song at 5:20:14 am; the unseen bird began singing well back from the road; this cut began sometime before 5:21:07 am, with the bird 75 meters away from me and well back from the road; it moved closer to the road at 5:24 am, when it was only 50-60 meters away when I got back onto it at before 5:27 am; bird moved again at 5:27:47 am (apparently switching branches, but remaining in same tree), with the tape beginning again at 5:28:06 am; moved yet again at 5:29:57 am, with the tape beginning again at 5:31:09 am, with the bird again at a distance of about 75 meters; the bird was not only moving at this time, but it was also obscured by vegetation; tape began after a gap at 5:37:18 am, after bird came in again (when it was moving around a bit, seemingly quite low), and running until 5:40:11 am; on again at 5:41:40 am with two birds seemingly in some type of interaction; off at 5:42:46 am, but on again at 5:44:00 am; one of the two birds in the interaction appeared to be Dendrocolaptes certhia ridgwayi by song; the good part of the recording ended at 5:50 am, when bird was only 25-30 meters away and seemingly about 2/3 up the trees (though it seemed to be over 2/3 up the trees for most of this cut); this cut was recorded on the south side of the logging road about 500 meters west of its intersection with the highway; 74¡ F, clear, calm. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
