Observation details
Small brown swallows seen within a large gathering of tree swallows along the wildlife drive. The birds could easily be seen either perched on the wildlife drive or on nearby bushes and grasses. The Bank Swallows were smaller than the Tree and Barn Swallows and they had all brown upperparts. The underparts were white with a defined brown band across the upper chest. There were a few juv. Tree Swallows that had a diffuse brownish-gray chest band but these bands were not distinct. The call was a short buzz. The number was the max I was able to count at once but there could have been more.
