Observation details
**rare, first group in the county? Walking out the causeway, I casually scanned the gulls on the water and thought the black-back coming in to land looked a bit odd, but it was the same shade as one already on the water, so I figured it was me. After making my way all the way across and starting back, I noticed a few adult black-backs close in on the rocks. I was rather surprised to see bright yellow legs on all three. With a closer look, they were clearly less bulky than a Great and were pretty close in size to Herring. In flight, the contrast between the black at the tips and the rest of the wing was fairly obvious. (Couple photos of one passing under GBBG)
