NOTES: This cut was recorded after we saw the bird relatively well, and after both "spishing" and some playback by Jeremy Minns, both of which seemed to attract the bird to some degree and make it give the same call more frequently; when recorded, but was 10-15 meters away in dense undergrowth on slope above us (seemingly low, but difficult to be certain); clouds were thinning at this time. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Scold. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Second-growth.
