NOTES: LNS note: At approximately 12:13 into cut, Paul announces 'We're going to shift to the bow hydrophone in a few mintutes'. There is no hydrophone shift evident in the recording, and the notes on the reel box indicate that the bow hydrophone was used. 23Jun2003 SAS Tape notes: "Bow xphone cuts of whales on bow waves (6kts) then ends as whales move off and we get under way." Deck Wildlife Watch: "Overcast, visibility fair. Enroute to Bermuda. 1224 - False Killer Whales. Saw 2 large porpoise come to our bow from starboard beam, then take position on bow wave. Rode for i min (approx) we turned and slowed, a large group was astern and stayed there for a while, then moved up to ride bow wave. Eventually had a large herd on these species. Made 1 1/4 reels of 7" tape and 1/3 of a reel of PI (reel #8) tape. Good sounds, pictures - had to make time to get to Bermuda, so we secured." SEAOCEAN. Other Behaviors: Clicks, Whistles.
