NOTES: includes 72 (24/43/5) songs of dusk chorus; three parts end at 17:21, 17:42, and 17:49; this is the same bird recorded in the above cut and at dawn this same day in cut #98-RDAT11-14; this cut begins at 17:10; the bird moved about 100 meters back along the road towards the lodge; the bird was 30 meters up overhead, singing in the shade on a smaller tree; the second part of the cut begins at 17:23 with the bird 30-35 meters up overhead after it moved about 20 meters (about five trees) between the two parts; recorded in good, terra firme forest with scattered, large trees; I missed two songs in the last gap, with the third part beginning at 17:46, after the bird again moved about 50 meters away and relatively high up at the edge of a tree-fall gap at the end with a small flock of birds; in the end, the bird was 60 meters away and singing only intermittently; in all, this cut has three parts; this bird was about 2 km. out road on the west side; clear, calm, mid to low 80s. ML: Background subject changed from recordist's original identification of Ramphastos tucanus cuvieri to Ramphastos tucanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
