NOTES: Nine songs; This recording likely represents a playback response because this species was in the background of the Phoenicircus cuts that I was playing back just before this; the bird was now 30-35 meters up overhead at the top of a tall tree on the slope above the igap¿; the sun was up, but the bird was unseen; this is the same bird for which I have a huge number of songs on tape from both this same morning and several previous days (98-RDAT08-35; 98-RDAT09-01, 09, 10, 11, 17; 98-RDAT10-08, 16, 17, 18, 21). ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides to Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides/dorbignyanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
