NOTES: Contains 122 songs (16/20/79/7); this cut began at 5:49 am, with bird initially 75 meters away over flooded igap¿; bird began with a long-call at 5:45 am, and then song, near where I was standing, but after two songs (both overloaded) it flew across igap¿; bird later moved back across igap¿ and in middle part of the cut, it was only 30-35 meters up overhead, before moving back to 75-100 meters away on far side of igap¿; next the bird was 45-50 meters away, either over the water, or high up in trees on far side; the bird eventually returned to hillside nearer my position at end of cut; the more distant recordings are probably when bird was 60-70 meters away and high up; dashes separating numbers of songs above indicate switched perches; the two long calls were from a second individual; same bird recorded the previous days (98-RDAT08-35, 98-RDAT09-01, 09, 10, 11); sun not in trees yet by end of cut; clear, calm, low to mid 70s; moon was near full, but down by dawn. ML: Background subject changed from recordist's original identification of Ramphastos tucanus cuvieri to Ramphastos tucanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
