NOTES: Tape notes: Sousa chinensis schools; Clifton Beach, group of 4-6 in murk water 100 meters offshore. Other recordists: Phyllis Norris, Ray Oke, Peter Escreet. Clear calm day, water murky 1m-2m. Marked bands by knocking hydrophone with finger before placing in water. Sequence of recording from notebook: Hydrophone into water; Band 1. Click series start immediately plus sound of hydrophone bumping bottom. Clicks and Bumping sounds still continue. Clicks (only a few). Stop. Clicks very faint. Clicks stop and then start again. Good clicks for a few seconds. Then no clicks, only water sounds. Good clicks. Very loud and clear. Clicks are at varying rates. Clicks stop after a few seconds. Only sounds of water and crackling sounds. Two taps. Very good clicks; loud and clear. Lasted a few seconds. Background crackling. No sound -- possibly end of Band 1? Clicks then heard. Three taps on hydrophone. recording very faint. Volume had to be turned up to hear faint background noise. 20 taps on hydrophone. No sound. About 11 taps on hydrophone. Silence - squawk. 4 taps on hydrophone. Hydrophone into water. Clicks heard immediately. Clicks and water sounds faint. 1 loud tap. Faint water sounds. Speaker tapped 4 times. Placed in water. Water sounds. Faint clicks heard shortly after placing hydrophone in water. Background crackling. Clicks loud and distinct.
