Media notes
NOTES: Pairs in amplexus and laying eggs, unamplexed males attempting to displace paired males. Males make the sounds when they are physically grabbed by another male. This sound is considered a "release" call, but may also function as an aggressive defensive call to deter males attempting to displace a male in amplexus.; Habitat: high desert valley, the toads live in spring fed marshes and channels between the mountains at the southeast side of the valley and Deep Springs Lake.; Although the temperature was not recorded, this was after dark, it was colder, and the toad calls are slower. Habitat: Desert.
