One 2nd-cycle Ring-billed Gull - pale mantle in direct comparison to Mew and California gulls (photo shows a Mew on the left, two California Gulls in center, and Ring-billed Gull facing away on the right); pale mantle did not contrast with white tertial edges; black primaries lacked white tips and eye dark; brown flecking on head and neck sharply demarcated (rather than blurry as in Mew Gull), bill with well-developed black ring and pinkish-yellow bill base; legs pinkish.
