Observation details
Flagged as rare. Apologies for the belated report - I was traveling - though I saw someone else reported this bird in the meantime. See photos; very large shorebird (larger than BN Stilt), mostly white, black wing with a large white patch (when folded), slight orange tint to the neck; slightly upturned, thin black bill; blue legs. On my way back toward the auto tour, I scanned the south pond again quickly with binoculars and was pleased to see this bird in the middle of the pond (where it gets narrow between the front part and back part). Set up scope to get photos. The falcons were moving everything around and this bird soon flew back to the back of the farther part of the pond.
