Observation details
Louis Bevier pointed out that this is a 1-yr-old Long-tailed Jaeger. It is not a juvenile based on the uniform brown across the upperparts. What stands out as features for Long-tailed Jaeger are: just two white shafts in the outermost primaries, the small build with long caudal section (normal tail feathers and section of body behind trailing edge of wing), well-defined black-and-white barring that is evenly spaced and bold across both the undertail and the uppertail, and the bill shape, which is blunt and short.
