Media notes
Unique combination of calls. Some calls are a combination of a dzert and rattle (sensu Pieplow) but frequently the rattle is followed by two downward slurred, buzzy "churt churt" notes (that sound like whistled gurgles when played at half speed). Two individuals can be heard but one seems to be giving only the dzert note.
Observation details
Two non-breeding individuals, judging by the lack of strong white on their sides (juveniles), were vocalizing regularly while perching on an electrical wire or on the ground in the pasture. They also sometimes gave dingle dzert call notes while flying back and forth over an adjacent weedy field adjacent to the pasture. A singing male was present from the pasture in the distance.
