Observation details
Both species of cormorants flew in small flocks to roost in the cormorant trees .75 miles south of the parking lot at dusk, probably a good time to assess the number of NECOs using Ogden Bay and hear their creepy croaking as they bickered for perches. Five NECOs perched together at the top of one of the cormorant trees with DCCOs also in the tree; one perched in another tree with only DCCOs. About 1/3 smaller than the DCCOs and with a white outline to gular area. Some lingering white post-auricular filoplumes present. No DCCOs in these images although present. Taken at 8:45 pm.
