Media notes
Incessant calling. Slightly pauses in the rhythm of the calls were when the individual quickly dipped its bill in the water. Two juveniles were resting on the shore less than 5 m from the adult. A third juvenile was perhaps 8 m way and foraging. Only the adult was vocalizing.
Observation details
Adults were present in two separate fluddles. The large fluddle had 5 adult individuals, and at least 3 juveniles (probably more). The small fluddle had one adult and 3 juveniles. In both cases, family groups were suggested. Only three of the adults (all recorded below) were vocalizing. Two at least were associated with juveniles.
