NOTES: (Species Sound: frequent; Breeding Status: territorial?, breeding; Behavioral Context: parent-young contact?; General Climate: arid; Cover Density: sparse) These are the parents of the young (nestlings) recorded in cuts 93-31 and 93-53. Several minicuts: 1) both adults scolding. 2) one adult approaching the nest. 3) one adult approaching the nest. 4) one adult approaching the nest. Batteries were running down, which caused a hum at one point. [This recording has five parts (in addition to a voice announcement at 0:30-0:38), all of which appear to concentrate on the parents of the nestlings recorded in LNS #106545. The first part contains eight Double Calls (following BNA) by the closer bird, four each with two and three notes; similar calls are given by a second bird in the background. The second through fourth parts of the recording contain wing rustling as the birds flew too/from the nest tree, the movement of the bird on the bark, and soft Begging Calls of the nestlings, but no calls by the near adult (the second bird is heard in the background). Begging Calls are prominent in the fifth part. The last part again contains three Double Calls by one of the adults (one with three notes and two with two notes). Quality added (2, 2-3 - the calls at 0:05-0:30 are the BEST included here) - CAM - 20 April 2005]. Sound stimulation was (other): my presence at nest. Other Behaviors: Scold, Emit Alarm, Perform Visual Display. Habitat: Forest, Evergreen Forest, Coniferous Forest.
