Be sure to notice the fourth chick tucked way down, second from the left, as well as the one hiding behind its sibling on the right.
Observation details
Of the juveniles, 4 were fledglings and 4 were just-hatched eggs, evidence of which was 4 broken egg shells on the ground beneath a second nest. The 12 that were "seen," in a dying light, were associated with 2 nests. A third nest was seen at another location, but by then was too dark to discern birds. A fourth nest nearby has been seen by another birder. Many, many thanks, Terry. :) All nests were in block 98F.
