Media notes
ructurally this is a small Flycatcher - and a first winter of bird which has blue on breast in adult plumage. Based on the bill, face and proportions - it is either an Ultramarine Flycatcher of Blue-and-White Flycatcher. Ultramarine Flycatcher does not seem to have dark blue on the breast in adult plumage. The darkness of the blue feathers visible in this bird is more like a Blue-and-White Flycatcher. Another possible species is Zappey’s Flycatcher - but it also does not have a such dark blue feathers on breast. February is the time when Blue-and-White Flycatcher migrates through the Western Ghats - hence, that matches well. This identification has been confirmed by Mr. Yong Ding Li, Singapore"
