Observation details
Just before dinner at 19:34, I looked out the dining room window and noticed a large dark bird flying east and immediately new it was a Skua. I ran outside with my camera and got a bunch of photos. Overall, it was dark brown (including back) with a paler nape, which is good for South Polar. It had bright white bases to the primaries which is typical of all skuas. The inner primaries are heavily molting which is in line with South Polar Skua molt time, as well as the time of year and location.
