NOTES: "grunt" call from unknown location in extensive freshwater marsh [Two examples of what appears to be the "Primary Advertising Call" of BNA account. These calls are also presumably homologous to the "Clapper" Call of Rallus longirostris mentioned both in BNA account and by Massey and Zembal (1987. Vocalizations of the Light-footed Clapper Rail. J. Field Ornithol. 58: 32-40; see Figure 2). Quality changed from 1-2 to 2-1 (though both examples seem to fade in and-out, presumably as recordist moved parabola on and off axis) - CAM - 5 April 2005]. Habitat: Wetland.
