Media notes
NOTES: call of probable Canyon Wren; on tape narration it says this is Say's Phoebe, but Will Russell identified the call from the tape as a Canyon Wren; from young juniper at roadside [Well, both are correct. The "peeeeur" notes are part of the song (mostly Initially Peaked Vocalizations but ending with a type 1 Regularly Repeated Vocalization) of Sayornis saya (0:07, 0:09, 0:12-0:18, 0:20, 0:22, 0:24), but the sharp "eenk" calls are those of Catherpes mexicanus. Although difficult to say anything based on description in BNA account, these probably represent Location Calls, which are given regularly as these birds forage. Quality changed from "V.good" to 2 (the phoebe calls are scattered throughout) - CAM - 12 May 2005]. Habitat: Desert.
