NOTES: "craws" and "crackles" calls from cattail marsh with open water [The first part of this recording contains three rapid series of Clucks of BNA (Figure 2D) given by at least two different birds (0:08-0:12, 0:13-0:18 - BEST example, 0:18-0:24) followed by two Cackles (0:46-0:52, 1:00-1:04; Figure 2B), and a series of three calls that are probably variations on the Squawks (0:41-0:44); there are also several other calls by this species in the background. The calls in the second part appear to represent exclusively Squawks ("kr-a-a-a"; 1:05-2:33). Note that the loud "check" calls at 0:34 and 0:39 are those of Quiscalus major and the harsh series of notes at 0:085-0:10 is the "tut, tut, tut" call of Ixobrychus exilis. Quality changed from "V.good" to 2 - CAM - 2 March 2005] LNS: Subject changed from Gallinula chloropus to G. galeata to reflect current taxonomy. -Matt Medler, 14 Sept 2011. Habitat: Wetland.
