NOTES: calls and whisper song?, including some mimicry in song, from low in canopy of spruce-fir forest; no notes at end of tape [This recording contains a variety of vocalizations. Although apparently not given in flight, the calls between 0:07 and 0:40 appear to represent the "Flight Calls" of BNA, these grading into alternating series of song with some mimickry (e.g., Colaptes auratus at 0:405, 0:445, 1:04, 1:52; Turdus migratorius at 1:23-1:24, 1:35-1:365) and additional "Flight Calls." Song - 0:40-0:46, 0:525-0:575, 1:04-1:12, 1:195-1:245, 1:305-2:18; "Flight Calls" - 0:48-0:52, 1:01-1:03, 1:13-1:19, 1:29. The second part of the recording (after 2:19) has the "Contact Calls" of BNA (2:225, 2:25, 2:26, 2:27), followed by "Flight Calls" (2:285-2:34), and finally, five more soft "Contact Calls" when the bird flew off. Quality changed from "V.good" to 2-1 (a bit of hiss) - CAM - 11 January 2005]. Other Behaviors: Court, Advertise. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Montane Grassland.
