Observation details
Photos and recordings. Excellent habitat, sparse P-J (dominated by juniper ~3m high) on rocky slopes with sparse sagebrush understory. Saw 4 of 6 individuals and other two were heard singing typical fast song (about 1 phrase/sec, faster than typical PLVI song) 300-400m from other individuals. One singing male seen following a presumed female around a tree and singing a very fast song (recording) which, based on previous observations, I believe is courtship related. Gray Vireos seem to be quite common about 25 miles south in the PJ around Dutch John peak and they appear to be fairly common here as well.
