Observation details
1st cycle male found by John Puschock. Grayish body and head. Faint brown streaks along flanks, and brown crown stripes. Brown and dark brown upperparts, recalling a sparrow. Brown tail with no white tail edges. Pink legs and sharp, heavy pink bill. Relatively secretive, occasionally perching in open. Originally found perching on wire 3 feet off ground. Frequently called: high-pitched "zik" contact note. Fourth North American record.
