Observation details
bird spotted in flight as I was walking from my car to the clinic entrance. I noticed the brown tail and brighter yellow underparts compared to the usual Western Kingbirds. it teed up in a live oak and remained there for the duration, repeatedly giving the distinctive breeer call note. also noted were the notched tail tip and larger bill than Western Kingbird. again, yellow underparts were much brighter (richer?) yellow color, extending upwards to the throat. iPhone photo forthcoming. Nic Webster attempted to record the calls on his iPhone but we couldn't hear anything on initial playback. the Couch's was still present at the same location at 5 pm.
