A single 'song' immediately after the Ovenbird followed by a series of calls.
Observation details
Previously found by Geoff LeBaron. After wandering up and down Whately Rd. I relocated the bird within sight of Roaring Brook Rd. The bird was flying laps around a small area of Hemlock trees between Whately Rd and the gated access road to the Northampton reservoir. The center of the area favored by the bird is marked by a bleached white stick poking up from the side of the road about 100 ft. South of the Northampton Reservoir sign next to the gate. The bird called regularly at 20 second intervals but only 'sang' twice in the 45 minutes I was there. It was exceptionally hard to locate but appeared to stay about 20 to 30 ft. off the ground in the dead limbs of Hemlocks. I was able to see the bird clearly only twice but long enough to distinguish its small size and generally olive color with two very distinct wing bars. I was able to record the call notes and the two instances of song which I will add to this record soon.
