Observation details
Large flock of mixed Parrots and Parakeets. You could hear them when approaching the Orange traffic circle, which was a 1/4 mile away from where birds were. Most were Red-masked/Mitred. I did see a few Yellow-chevroned Parakeets and 1 Lilac Parrot. There could have been more since the flock was so large, I could not see every bird. I did not actually count them but there were hundreds of birds. My estimate of 350 is probably small. The birds came to this area in the evening to roost in the palm trees that lined the strip mall area. One other person reported this large flock in the Orange County Rare Bird Alert. I have since been back in December of following years and have not seen this large of flock.
