Observation details
Larger peep sized shorebird, pale face and body, back mostly black centered feathers but some rufous tones mixed in, bill moderate length, thick, slightly dropped and black. If compared to typical peeps, it looked intermediate between Western and Semi-palmated. Fine streaking of breast heavier towards throat and upper breast diminishing down the breast and sides but extending along the flanks. No sharp demarcation ala Pectoral Spiper. Wing tips extended beyond tail. Along private pond that drains into the Wildlife Area at the boundry, southwest side.
