Observation details
Both Acadian Flycatchers were in trees along Viniard-Alexander Rd. Below is a recording of the first bird. Its song is largely one-noted, repeated at shorter intervals than is typical of the daytime song, with the classic two-noted Acadian Flycatcher song interspersed. I question whether this song might be a dawn song. Comparison of its sonogram with those of other Acadian Flycatchers confirms to me that this is indeed an Acadian Flycatcher. The second Acadian Flycatcher, which was encountered somewhat later, was singing the classic Acadian Flycatcher song.
