Observation details
Photo’s. McAllister Creek Viewing Platform. Observed for 30 minutes with 60 x spotting scope. Roosting and foraging in vicinity of McAllister Creek Viewing Platform. 1/4-1/3 the size of surrounding Caspian Terns. Long-forked tail while flying. Light gray outer rectrices, light gray outer margins of primary feathers underside of wing. Two toned bill orange at base and black at tip. Orange legs. Initially I thought these might be Common Terns, but not the typical time of year that I see them. Bill and legs more orange than red like with COTE. Not as dark on outer tail or underside of wing as COTE. Looked pretty good to me for FOTE.
