Observation details

MEGA: Found by David Lusignan. First Worcester County Submission (2 other birds reported in Mass on ebird). MARC had previously accepted the Northampton record from 2004 but placed on supplemental list. Rhode Island had a Trumpeter Swan in 2014 in late May as well. Submitting to establish a potential vagrancy pattern. The bird is on the upper pond. This location is a haven in the winter for many migrating waterfowl species including past rare geese/ducks. I spoke with the home owner to make sure he didn't "purchase" the bird. He said that bird showed up on Monday and he didn't know what it was. I explained to him what the bird was. heard the bird call 1x. Bird was pretty alert and looking at the sky numerous times for predators. Feeding alongside Canada Geese and Mallard in grass
