Observation details
VERY deep in back of marsh if looking off of observation deck. While scanning, I noticed a small, coot-like bird in the back of the marsh next to a Great Egret. Looking through the binoculars, I noticed the bright red-orange bill on a dark, purple/gray bird. It also featured expected white on wing and tail. Shots were in terrible, changing lighting from over 200 yards away but bird was distinct. Potential to breed here if other birds are present. Construction has pushed anything and everything further back into the marsh, where there is little access except by kayak.
