Observation details
More info to follow. Bird was first seen on road feeding with two noticeably larger Brown Thrashers. Bird remained around ponds during the whole time it was in view. It finally came close enough to get a few photos with my phone. Except when flushed, bird remained on ground the whole time, mostly feeding on road and along edges. UPDATE: Bird was gray above and white below with heavy dark streaking and spotting on chest and belly. Good light showed a very faint brownish tint underneath (4th photo below shows this faintly, especially on the right side of the bird's upper chest). I did not notice any white on the bird's back, wings or upper tail, including the brief period that I saw the bird in flight, certainly not any white like would be obvious on a mockingbird in flight. Photo 4 also shows what appears to show some white underneath the tail toward the end and edges. Upper tail appeared darker gray than the rest of it's body. Bill is dark and very slightly decurved. Legs are dark. Iris is yellow.
