Observation details
This 'bird' was singing from the cedar swamp at the bottom of the yard. It was very close but I never saw it as I was busy solo parenting(as heard in second recording) and in a rush to leave. I did walk down to the bottom of the garden with the baby but the bird went silent. It was posted on xeno-canto and suggested that it is a Varied Thrush...which would be very rare. It does sound very good for Varied Thrush and I have yet to find anything else that comes close sounding like this. Upgraded to Varied Thrush. Recordings seem pretty conclusive.
