NOTES: a party of Sericornis that cmae quite close to me. I saw them well and saw no reason to think they were anything but nouhuysi, with which I am familiar though the song is not the same as I've heard at Crater. KD Bishop does not recognize the song either and queried if they could have been beccarri or virgatus. I'm pretty certain it could not have been part of this complex. Sericornis do occassionally display remarkable vocal repetoires, sometimes mimicking other species and running through a number of very different song types in rapid succession. Tech Note: Nakamichi Time: Begin: 0:58 End 6:51 HPF@240Hz. mf Noter that nouhuysi integrades with beccarri (of lowere elevations) and s. virgatus may be nothing more than 'hybrids', often very similar to nouhuysi. this bird could have had some beccarri genes in it?. Number of individuals=UUc5;. Habitat: Cloudforest, Montane Grassland.
